This book is the collection of two-page articles providing theoretical and practical information for dimensional engineers. These articles were published under the title, Dimensional Engineering Focus, as a monthly publication for DCS engineers and customers, from year 2003 to year 2017. This book's publication hopes to make the information available to the whole industry of dimensional engineering.
Dimensional engineering provides the engineering skills and knowledge in solving the problems for assembling components which have variations and tolerances. Those skills and knowledge are widely utilized in automobile, aerospace, furniture, and medical device manufacturing. Any assembled product will require dimensional engineers during manufacturing processes sooner or later.
The three authors are all with Dimensional Control Systems more than 20 years. DCS is the leader in dimensional engineering worldwide and provides the services and software tools, 3DCS and QDM.
